Resolved [RESOLVED] Pc Wont Boot - Bsod

When installing vb6 on my laptop, it asked me to update Java VM and restart, when i restarted it came up with a BSOD at the windows boot screen.

I cant give any details because i cant get into safe mode or use last known good config to edit the registry.

I would of thought that this was a hardware problem becuase it wont boot into safemode, but i haven't updated any drivers or added any new hardare.

Im at my mums house at the moment, and dont have xp cd until i get home. I will try the repair option when i get home.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they resolved it.

    Thanks in advance, Chris1990

I forgot to say that i cant get into safemode to edit the registry, at the moment it is set to autorestart on bsod.

Would that rule out registry problems as it can obviously read it. By the way i havent had this problem before starting the install.

Oh..try this..if you're fast enough and have a camera..try photographing the BSOD before it reboots.

Have you tried resetting the CMOS jumper?

I haven't tried resetting the cmos jumper, didn't think it would have anything to do with it. Why would it, i haven't changed anything

    I'll try videoing it.

I've had times when resetting the cmos jumper has fixed some problems, even though I hadnt changed anything in bios, it was just a thought
