You may have noticed that the URL for the bulletin board has changed - this is becasue we are now using a new system to run the UBB. However it should look and act exactly the same to you.
In the long run this system should be able to cope with all the stress and strain that 6000+ eager and talkative members can put on it. However, there may be a few teething problems.
If you spot something that isn't right, then please come and post it here. If you really love a new feature, let us know - we always appreciate good feedback .
Lastly, if there is some wonderful feature that you think this board just cannot do without, please let us know here. We cannot guarantee that the features will appear overnight, but you can be sure that we will note them down for possible addition in later editions.
I look forward to hearing your feedback and (constructive) critisicm,
John Percival

I noticed that there were a few changes to the UBB code like the list tag and the url tag. Are these on purpose?
Also, some people are now senior members. How does that work?

Yes - we did need to make a few minor changes to the UBB code. You should find that all your previous messages have converted to take the changes into account. The changes were:
[list=1][*]Ordered lists, using list=1 and list=a tags now must be closed with a /list=1 and /list=a tag respectively.[*]Proper URLs must now be surrounded with quotation marks, "", when using the url tag.[/list=1]
For more complete info on the UBB code, see this page:
http://www.vb-world.net/forums/ubbcode.html
Senior Members have been added as we felt that those long standing members of the forum deserved some more recognition. A senior member is just a member who has posted more than 100 messages.

WE pay for it!
Did you see that add at the top of the page? Every time we read at, it earns John and others a cent or so.

A problem
I tried a search for "C++ Forums like this one". The first page didn't have what I wanted, so I went to the next page and got this error:
Warning: Offset -20 is invalid for MySQL result index 17 in admin/db_mysqlrun.php on line 64
Then it put me back on the first page.
thanks,
bob

Thanks very much for letting us know - we'll get that sorted ASAP.
However, I'm not sure that the VB Q and A forum is the best place to search for C++ forums.
