    I have the following code:

    Code:
    #include "stdafx.h"

    int APIENTRY WinMain(HINSTANCE hInstance,
                         HINSTANCE hPrevInstance,
                         LPSTR     lpCmdLine,
                         int       nCmdShow)
    {

    	return 0;
    }
    Is it possible to show a Dialog based on this, or do I first have to write a Window Class for the "base window"???

    You can make a modal dialogue box using DialogBox, where the function doesn't return until it's closed (you still need to provide a dialogue box procedure, similar to a window procedure).
    A modeless box is created using CreateDialog, and this returns a window handle as normal. For this you have to use a message loop as well.
    I refuse to tie my hands behind my back and hear somebody say "Bend Over, Boy, Because You Have It Coming To You".
