Windows Installer wants to install something...

I have an application that has been used and installed for several years. Now all of a sudden when the application is run in a Limited Users Account the Windows Installer wants to install something and also asks for the Windows Office 2000 CD. I do not use any office components of any kind. What is going on here???

I'd think your program is using something that was set to "install on first use" in Office 2000. These happen for each user as they stumble over them.

This probably isn't it, but shows one example of what can happen: Windows Installer prompts you for an Office 2000 CD, or you receive an "Error 1706" error message after you start a program that uses the Mscomctl.ocx file.

Yes, that helped... I can't do anything about it unless I develop a registry hack to disable that functionality of installing on first use...
