Re: OLE registry
I don't have VB on Vista, so can't test it. But basically they're saying that to register the component, you need administrator privileges when running regsv32.exe.
i.e. Right click on a command prompt shortcut and choose "Run as..." Make sure you choose Administrator. Start the prompt then type in
regsvr32 msrdp.ocx
and press Enter.
(That's assuming it's that particular .ocx that's causing the fault)
I think there's info in the FAQs about problems installing VB6 on Vista. If you go to the MS site and search for "installing vb6 on vista", you get about 20,000 hits - most of them problems.

Re: OLE registry
I found this and I have same problem and it solved but I am not happy with performance. maybe it is related t my project file and m computer.
http://pandazen.wordpress.com/2008/0...-ole-registry/
and it says :
When i open VB6 on Vista, i get this message “Automation Error, Error accessing the OLE Registry”.
To avoid this message appears again, i check compatibility to XP and “Run As Administrator”, and now i can work with VB6.
have a nice day.
