After U.S. Grant gave the order to launch the attack that began the battle known as the Wilderness, he was reported to have gone into his tent and wept, overcome by the stress of the moment.

Now strength is equated with not showing emotion. Back then, strength was equated with accomplishments. It's a sick world.

But if she can't handle the pressure of a campaign how in the heck is she going to handle the stress of being president. If these were fake tears and emotions (which I do believe BTW) then she should immediately fire the adviser(s) who suggested it. It made her look weak and vulnerable, two qualities you don't want to see in the next president.

I don't care if she grows a beard and body-slams polar bears as a backtrack to her public crying today.

Either way - I'm voting for Romney.

If they are fake, I certainly agree that the advice was terrible. I'm a lousy judge, so I don't trust my opinion.

The point I was trying to make was that in the past, some very strong leaders handled stress by crying. I know perfectly capable people who do now, some of them are even very masculine men, which is highly unusual in this society. My point is that basically this bias where crying = weak is a relatively recent, cultural bias, which doesn't hold any particular truth.
