I don't use any tabs - IE6 and only IE6. Maybe IE8 but definitly not IE7.
Anyway, why am I forced to used that if I like the advanced editing?
Why isn't it configurable from user's CP? If anyone can reasonably explain that to me please?
So how long has Quick Edit been the default?
When you hit edit, you can edit your post, but you still have an edit button available?
It has confused me, as I {Don't ask me why} when editing, would hit the edit button yet again.
And why, when in quick edit mode, is there a quote button?
"Go Advanced" in the Quick Edit is the same as in the Quick Reply (go to the advanced edit/reply page).
Also same as the Edit button.
The Quote button quotes and goes advanced reply.
Due to the nature and design of the ajax quick edit, it has to be done this way. unfortunately it is still this same way in 3.7.0 Beta 3

Sorry but I wasn't looking for any guidance - it's easy enough to fiogure how to use it - all you need to do is click twice the edit button.
The question I asked was "Why do we have that option?" and I believe Joe answered it.
Thank you.

There are alternatives which look and behave just like IE 6, except with added modern features, such as tabs, mouse gestures, easy enabling/disabling of scripting, Java, ActiveX, flash, etc. Two of them are Maxthon(version 1.X, not 2.X)and Avant.
the drop-down menus such as quick links, etc., will be gone. However the forum is still usable without JavaScript, but the text formatting controls depend upon it.
I was happy for a short time thou...
VBWire news were gone, quick edit was gone so were many other things on many other sites...
Unfortunately I had to re-enable scripting... I'll live with it but I really hate it.
Also I did check vBulletin.com/forums but not much info was available there either - in fact none.
I wish you didn't apply it to this site although there might more people who actually like it...
Older IE versions have tabs too don't they? It looks weird.. but I've seen it before. I clicked the mousewheel at someones house out of habbit and it tabbed itself..
