[resolved]New computer
I am thinking of buying a new computer. The computer will be mostly be used for work, and multi tasking, and the occasional game. I would like it to be able to run Vista premium with all of the effects. This is what I was considering: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-...oductDetail.do
I have heard mixed reviews of Acer computers, and I was wondering if the lack of a graphics card would be a problem. Any other recommendations are welcome.

Depends what occasional games you're going to play and depends what kind of applications you are going to run on it. I personally dont like the idea of having a shared video memory. However if you are just going to use it on basic applications it would seem ok.
Not sure what the prices are like in America so I can't comment whether that price is reasonable, but if it was me i wouldn't get it.

Most of the games wouldnt be very graphics intensive. But I might play war hammer every once in a while. I would also like to be able to rn beryl in ubuntu on full settings. Could an integrated graphics card handle that?

Re: New computer
Im not entirely sure but here is what I've found out...
Beryl runs acceptably well on a GeForce 3/i855/Radeon 7500, 256MB of RAM, and a 1.2GHz processor. It also works best with Xorg 7.1 and requires a recent version of Mesa. (http://www.beryl-project.org/faq.php#gq5)
With the pc you are trying to buy, im sure you will be able to run it but im not sure whether you can run it at full spec..if not you can always buy a graphics card (not top of the range but still good ), those graphics card are cheap now these days as there are a lot more powerful ones available on the market...

in all my experiences as both a computer repair guy ( working for best buy/ future shop and on my own) and being a consumer dont buy an acer they use very cheap parts hence why there so cheap in price spend the maybe 100 dollars more and go with an hp or even a compaq
