Reason: Descriptions
If you want us to fit 5 photos into a zip file and expect them to be 500kb or less then we'll have to make them all 256 color and shrink them down to the size of icons.
Nobody is going to want to scale down their masterpieces because then they look crummy, and my photos are bad enough before I've shrunk them.
VB's upload rules are no good for this type of contest. Maybe one of the mods (or a generous member) could setup a FTP server for the duration of this contest?

oceanebelle figured it out; just put them in multiple zips.
With an apology to wossname that's true. So I guess someone will have to find a place that will host them where I can copy them, or we could try having them sent to me in an email. PM me for my email address if you want to try it that way.

That's the setting of the cam when the pictures were taken.
It doesn't matter. They will all be shown the same size. I looked at yours and they don't lose any noticible resolution when expanded to the size I'm going to show them at.
They're bigger than the size I usually use (800px max dimension). I hope that's not considered too small.
They'll be fine...
But why would you use a size so small? You can always take them at large dimensions and then resize them for when you want to share them with friends or post them somewhere. At least you have the larger sized images as a 'raw' ready to be manipulated again and again.
I was using that size earlier, but when I look at those images now, my neck clenches in pangs of regret.
I do take them at 'large dimensions' (not that I have a choice in that matter). I just resize them to 800 pixels since that's what most forums stipulate as a maximum dimension. I assume that 10 megapixel RAW files are of little use to anyone.

What are the dimensions that you're going to use, Martin?

There are several choices at ImageEvent and I've chosen "large" which is 800x600 (depending on orientation) as the default, but the viewer can change that to "Small" 320x240, "Medium" 576x432, "x-Large" 1024x768 or "Original".
I have uploaded a couple on dclamp's server. I didn't notice any other entries.

4. Macro with magnifying glass
Description: One advantage of cameraphone is, they are good for casual macro photography (If you get the focus correctly).
5. Birdie
Description: Another advantage of cameraphone - I was able to fit the tiny lens inside a gap in the net.

Including 5 of my own we now have 35 very nice photographs. I guess there's no harm in providing the link so here it is. http://ImageEvent.com/martinliss/contest
