    Downgrade from VB.Net to VB6

    Hi all.

I dont know where to post this question.

I have VB.Net installed in my pc. I want it to be downgraded to VB6.
    How can it be done?

    Thanks.

You cannot just downgrade your current version - you need to install whatever version you desire - all of them can easily coexist.
Problem is - VB6 is only available for a "free" download to MSDN subscribers.
Another [only] option is probably EBay.

Anyway, what's the reason for "downgrading"?

I could be wrong but I've got a feeling that installing VB6 after VB.NET can cause some issues. I think you have to install VB6 first, then VB.NET afterwards. RobDog should be able to confirm that I believe, because I think it was he who stated it. If that is the case then you'd have to at least reinstall VB.NET after installing VB6, although I 'd be inclined to uninstall first.

What version of VB.NET do you have? If its one of the purchased versions ($) then you may be able to contact MS and see if there is a downgrade license option and option to purchase replacement media for VB 6.

As RB mentioned, you could purchase a MSDN subscription which would give you access to VB ^ Ent. Ed. but to get that level of the subscription is ~$2,499. Seems way too much money just for VB 6. My advice is to let it die and move up to the present technology.

@John, hes asking how to downgrade VB.NET tp VB 6 without owning a copy of VB 6 first.

Yes, you install VB 6 first and then any .NET versions when installing both on a single system.

I've done it purposely in many possible orders - never a single issue. Maybe it's just me being lucky - but I don't really believe in luck in this business.
