I need a nice catchy name for a school software I have done. The program handles pupil profiling, absenteeism, sports team lists and a bunch of other stuff. However, finding a name is more difficult than I thought.

Please guys suggest something.

You might want to do a google search for similar software to get some good ideas on variations from them.

If this is something you intend to market commerically you could set it up so that each school that purchases your product has the ability to give it their own, individual, name.

Yes, where I used to work they had a proprietary HR software package that we sold to school districts. It had that ability plus customizable reporting and templates etc. Each school could customize it highly for their individual needs. But with HR stuff there are allot of rules and regulations that it needs to adhere too.

I've had to work on HR apps before....I try to avoid them like the plague because of all the rules and regulations that need to be adhered to.

So, what to I do now.....write apps for a Health Care provider which has to follow HIPPA guidelines.

Still, I think a configurable app that allows the user to make the call would be a very nice feature.

I'm not sure which is worse ... HIPPA or SOX... SOX is killing us, we've lost a couple of potential clients because we can't 100% certify against SOX.

Sarbanes/Oxley ... named after Senators Sarbanes and Senator Okley (I think I have the spellings right) - legislation passed by congress in the wake of the Enron debacle to make people accountable for getting the data right.... it went a little too far in my opinion.

Fortunately most of our clients are privetly held, so they don't fall under SOX jurisdiction ,but we do have a couple that are publicly traded, and so do fall under it....

I just had to memorialize that, since you went to the length of pointing out the spellings and still spelled them differently . I believe you are correct with the first spelling, but frankly I have never heard of either of those two other than this bill.

LOL... heck, I didn't even know that the bill was named after ANYONE until I saw them on CNN one day. I figured it was one of those esoteric type of naming deals.
