    Cool

After noticing so many threads entitled 'For American/Australian/British... only', I wanted to see how useless/effective the title was in only attracting the specified nationality.

    Post Judgement

Well, judging from the responses so far (however few they might have been), it seems that it is an effective method of screening for nationalities (much to my suprise).

Oh well, we live and learn.

    Lightbulb Hold on a minute

    denniswren,
The rest of the American's are obviously obeying the thread title and not reading the thread.

    SurfDemon,
As there are now two votes for "N. & S. America", I can only assume that is what you voted for. But, isn't Canada in the CommonWealth?

Hang on, Do Americans know how to vote? They seemed to have great problems the last time they were asked! I think my monitor might be slightly dimpled.

Maybe we should have a few recounts before we announce the final decision.

Sorry Katie, but it was too good an opportunity to miss

Dennis, it's a tough choice but i would go for Irish if anything. I think more people hate the germans (or krauts)more than they hate the Americans and the Irish are reportedly dumb, so it's the lesser of three evils.

    Arrow Not very many

Is there a nation that everyone likes?
What we're looking for here is a nation that's never done anything bad to anyone, ever.

So basically, that leaves either very new, young countries that haven't had a chance to p**s anyone off yet or else very old countries that have completely wiped out all it's former enemies so long ago that no one else remembers.

    Canada's pretty inoffensive as well!

I was going to say iceland, but then I remembered that they were responsible for Biork!!

    Arrow Erm...

Canada is pretty in-offensive, I'll admit. But I do know some people who hate canadians. I won't go into why but just be warned!

Iceland won't do either. Just ask any fisherman in the UK and they'll tell you about the "cod wars" that raged between Iclandic and British fishermen! Bjork doesn't really help matters either, does she?

The Irish may be traditionally dim, but they provide

    1) endless amusement

    2) potatoes

    3) guinness.

    gets my vote every time.

Anyway, I've got to stick up for them, my girlfriends family is irish.

Should have considered Australia rather than just "part of the commonwealth"

You have clearly never been to Oz.

Actually Canada and NZ are both viewed as being pretty non-offensive too everyone. Am working had on Australian not falling into the same category.

Was going to vote...but there is no Australian option....considering the number of Poms we have around the place, this has probably disenfranchised 10% of the English ex-pat population. Simon every thought about a political career in Florida?

Actually quite a few Yanks and Canadians are now living here...but that's a little secret we like to keep under our hats cause generally they've pretty good guys and gals. LA Dave that does not include you.....l will repeat for your edification:

You are still a big girls blouse

Sorry that is a private little joke. LA was sent to the bottle shop to get a bottle of whisky and returned with *shudder* bourban. Which as ever one knows is a girly drink best left to the Americans.

P.S You were warned Dave, have tickets to go see the Swans this weekend. Now repeat after me "Grandmothers tooth!" (He's in training). Incidentially we are going with an America who hails from Sioux City???????? Where the hell is that, probably bum-wipe Idaho or somewhere.

    Red face Individual Countries

Should have considered Australia rather than just "part of the commonwealth"
Well, you may have noticed that I didn't include any individual countries outside of Britain. This wasn't a nationality poll, rather a test to assess the effectiveness of having a 'nationality request' in the thread title.

All in all though, it's hard to make a judgement on the results.

Initially it was doing ok with only english (or so they claimed) people voting. Then N.America woke up and added a few votes themselves. But with at least one Canadian fogetting they were in the common wealth and the Australians not voting because they were offended at not finding an 'Australia' option, the final results are perhaps, to say the least, inconclusive.

    Oh well.

I was just wondering.... Would India still be considered as part of the Commonwealth...?

    I believe so cyberwarpy

They still consider South Africa as part of the Commonwealth, and lets face it they are a Republic.
