    Post deletion

How do I delete my own posts? There used to be a button or menu but I can't spot it anywhere...

    Click Edit on the post.

You should have delete options available. We would prefer you use the "Soft Delete" option.

Exactly, it started the thread, that explains why the option was not available. But I see it has been moved to the test area -it was indeed a test post- so there's no need to delete it.
I wasn't even aware there was a test area, definetely my glasses need some wiping.

Only a mod can delete an entire thread.

    Re: Post deletion

I think PowerPosters can delete their threads in the Chit Chat section.

If you have under 2,048 posts you can't delete your posts from anywhere.

You are right. I forgot about Chit Chat.

But, do you have to be a PowerPoster? I thought anyone could delete a thread they created in Chit Chat?

    Re: Post deletion

Yeah, it used to be that way, but now non-PowerPosters can't delete any of their posts including in Chit Chat, therefore only PowerPosters can delete their threads in Chit Chat.

    Clear as mud?

Not for me. If a new member just edits their post it can be made to be worthless anyways without the delete option.

True, but if it is in Chit Chat it really doesn't matter.

    Re: Post deletion

There is a vB feature where you can specify that after x number of hours/days the post will not be editable and/or deletable. It will prevent a use that is not a powerposter from coming back and wiping out their post with an edit.
