    There were times back in the 80's where you couldn't possibly miss Steve Jobs in the media, what happened to him? Anyone know?

    He went kind of nuts and got fired...they hired him again in 97? 96? somewhere around then

    He didn't got fired, he simply quit Apple to be with his wife and his "daughter" and started neXt computer... He came back in 1996 when apple was going down with their new president...

    Didn't he appear at Comdex at the end of last year (looking very old and worn out I'm afraid) and used a lot of bad language to show how passionately he feels about Apple .

    Since the big innovations are

    let's make our computers out of perspex


    (nice idea - I approve - very pretty but not exactly worldshaking) and

    let's turn OS X into a sort of Linux

    (also a nice idea, but what does the consumer care about this? I assume developers are not too keen as everything that they had so far was probably made obsolete)

    I guess he had to use the language to make people sit up (or tune out).

    I thought Steve got booted out because the board made a vote to kick him out.. or something like that...

    Yes!!!!

    Steve stuffed up after the MAC and was considered a loose cannon. He got canned. Jobs then sold all Apple shares except 1, and left and started Next. Which was a company producing an OS. When Apple were searching for a replacement to the original MAC OS and they decided on Next and re-instated Jobs. Next was a crap OS by the way.

    Along the way Jobs also founded Pixel...Toy Story etc...and of course made a heap more money.

    The REAL story is that Jobs ain't that good except for publishing himself and making a buck...kinda like Larry Ellison....

    The Woz was the man!!!!!!!!!
