[RESOLVED] Books for Beginners Please!
Hey all, as I am just starting out in learning .NET and SQL, what would be the best and most up-to-date literature on these two languages?

Re: Books for Beginners Please!
Do you want a general SQL book or Books based on a specific database system (the procedureal languages for each is a little different, even some to the SQL is a little different). A start might be The Complete SQL Reference it covers the basics of SQL Server and Oracle both and the basics of SQL.
ISBN-10: 0072225599
ISBN-13: 978-0072225594

As you will be doing database programming, I would recommend the only book that I've purchased so far (although I am looking at a couple of others).
I got this from Amazon, so you can check it out for yourself.
"Murach's VB.NET databse programming with ADO.NET"
If you are going to be database programming, you also need to learn ADO.NET

Well, don't deluge yourself in books. You have some database programming experience with Access. You need to get some .NET experience under your belt and that will come with time and projects.
Just pick one or two books to start with, and things will evolve from there.
