Resolved [RESOLVED] MSN Registry Value For Passwords

Hi, yesterday i forgot the pass of my second mail.
A friend told me for a program named "MessenPass"
Although my A/V found it as trojan i opened it and it worked.
Well now i m interested to code something like this (but trojan free lol).....

i searched at google and then read this topic
    http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=116222
but unfortunatelly its not working on msn live.....

What i want is only the path where the pass is stored at all

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

Re: MSN Registry Value For Passwords

    Download a program called Regwatch:
    http://www.easydesksoftware.com/regwatch.htm

Have it take a snapshot of your registry while there is no saved password.

Then save your password and sign in.

Then hit the compare current registry button on Regwatch. This will tell you what keys have changed. Just go through the list to find it.

    Password will be encrypted though.

The values are encrypted to prevent unauthorized access by other users or hackers/malicious programs.

Why do you need to read the passwords?

Re: MSN Registry Value For Passwords

Well this is a grey area as although you need it for some legit use, other members/guests can take it and make some kind of malicious software to steal passwords etc.

You may not find allot of help on the topic anywhere for that reason.

    not that big deal IMHO...

(there are million of samples over the net)

Re: MSN Registry Value For Passwords

Well that was 6 years ago. Things have changed since then in all areas.

I dont decide, its the sites Acceptable Use Policy that has been in place for several years now but I dont believe it was the same back in 01 as the site was purchased by JM a couple of years after that.
