Request for Forum Moderators & All Users
I have an idea that could benefit absolutely anybody who visits this website.
You know how you can use the API Text Viewer to view API's? But the only problem, is its not very informative.. It gives you the API commands but thats it..
Well i have an idea, something that everybody in the forums could use daily and highly benefit from.
We could work together and make a program kindof like the API Text Viewer, but the whole purpose of the application would be to provide users with information with VB that answers everything from beginner to advanced coding issues people are having..
For example, somebody wants to know how to print a form. They could download the app from a sticky, and when they run it, they will be presented with a category list that has all kinds of questions in it that people would ask. They choose the question, and they are presented with more specific questions within that category.
They choose the question that matches what they want the closest, and the program will display highly commented code examples and explanations to help users along.
The whole VB Forums community will be able to participate because the app will be setup to import certain file types that are really simple to create, and add them as a post in that thread, and any of the moderators, or the original poster could keep combining them into a package that can be installed at once.
If this is of interest to the moderators and the rest of the users, i'll make a template for it, and it will remain as an open source program that anybody could modify for themselves, or post new code in that thread that we can use to update it as well.
What do you guys think?

Sounds like a great idea. I'm busy for another week or so, but I'd help with what I could.

No, if you go to which ever index thread you are interested in, like classic vb 6 programming, then all the topics are listed there. Why would you have to search when its all presented for you there? If there is a topic you would like to add you can write one up and submit it there too. There is a thread for guidelines for submissions.

Here are some links to some FAQ indices and the link for submitting your own faq topic.
Classic VB 6 FAQ:

Office Dev. FAQ:

Submit a FAQ:

I dont see how it could be difficult, same logic as a book. Browse the index and find the chapter you want to read up on and go to that page.
