How to limit the size of the desktop to say 800X600 pixels? I do not mean changing the resolution.. but to limit the desktop space..

Do you mean like put the rest of the desktop outside 800x600 in black or just stretch/shrink the desktop to fit the 800x600 limits. Do you still need the desktop to be functional. If not you could use screen capture and other graphical API calls to make it look like the desktop is 800x600. ELABORATE!

I get it. You want to do a similar thing to what Viavoice and Lotus Smart centre do. Hmmm... Let me think about that for a while. I'll get back to you.

I see a Hitch Hiker's man has joined the quest. Try PM-ing Parksie, he seems to know everything. I'm interested to know myself. I couldn't find anything in the API, unless I missed something.

    the problem:

I connect using a free ISP that displays an Advert bar on top.. and it rudely always stays on top and doesn't give the apps the full area of the desktop to work on.. I managed to overcome the "Always on top" problem.. but the second one is bothering me!

and wow! Parksie shud love this.. we have got a fan of his here!

Yes - I wondered if the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy was getting a bit to dated and no one would know what it was all about now

Ever tried making the adbar a hidden window, or minimizing it.
