May I ask why America censors everything?
I know you're kidding Arrow, but whenever you see a show on TV that was shot in America you get half of the show censored without obvious reason.

Swearing censoring can be needed here and there but shouldn't be used every time someone says f***. It changes its innocence to a meant swearing word.
If I'd watch a show and they would swear in the 'not-meaning/not-serious' way and they wouldn't censor it, I wouldn't really notice.
Censoring on those occasions actually only amplifies the number of times people swear. It makes people (especially little kids) think that swearing is normal.
It actually gives a controversial effect, which you can clearly see in society.

We don't and we're loosening up. Recently, it's become ok to use the S word on cable TV. All of the words are allowed (minus the F) - but have specific rules and guidelines as to how many times they can be used and in what context.

We aren't the only ones. I remember our friends over the pond renaming a movie "Austin Powers 2."

you can use any language on cable TV after 1AM actually according to FCC rulings..

That is why cable networks like Comedy Central can show unedited R movies after 1 PM. They often show movies like the South Park Movie, standup routines, and various other unedited movies in their "secret stash" timespot.


I also agree its a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to censorship. They can't show you blood and guts from an R rated movie (until like I said its 1AM) but its fine to show it on CNN as long as you call it "news"

Also other coutries DO censor pretty badly too...

Being that I was only 1 year old (to the day crazy enough) when Evil Dead hit theaters, I didn't see it until later on in life. I actually saw Army of Darkness first (which is still my favorite movie of all time) and then back tracked to see Evil Dead 1 and 2.

I will have to take a picture of my Evil Dead/Army of Darkness "collection" and post it one day. I have lots and lots of ED/AOD stuff... I stopped collecting a few years back because I felt the whole franchise was just being merchandised to death, but that still doesn't take away my love for those movies.

Yeah I didn't see it in '81 either, probably '88 or '89. I still remember watching that flick the first time though. One halloween a few friends and I rented The Evil Dead, Hellraiser, The Hills Have Eyes, and Night of the Living Dead on VHS. First time I had seen any of them. WOW! After that we snagged a few gallon jugs of burbon from my girlfriends dads stash and partied at the old farm and cemetary where the Night of the living dead was filmed in evans city. Awesome halloween. Great flicks. All are in my top 5 horror flicks of all time almost 20 years later. Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness were badarse as well, but I wouldn't really call them real horror flicks.
