I noticed that you have lost my PWD and username. It is not included automatically when I reply to a Q or write a new one.

Do I need to uppdate my profile or something?

I also noticed that when I answered a Q without stating a username or pwd then the my answer was shown without a name.
Should there be a check so at least a name must be enterd when replying or asking a Q?

    Hi,

The new forums store the username and password in a slightly different way to the last system, and so the cookie must be replaced with the updated version.

To do this, just post a message or update your profile.

I've passed on info about the username bug to our techies

    Thanks for your patience,

Just to clarify what James said:

The new system does use a new cookie system that should work better than the previous one. It used javascript to put the username and password onto the page, limiting the browsers that it would work in. The new system bypasses the javascript and does it all directly.

You will be cookied when you first identify yourself - by posting a message etc. This cookie will then stay with you forever, so in future when you come back, the system will remember you.

We are working on a way of picking up the old UBB cookies.

Of course, you have the option to disable the cookies when you edit your profile.

I find that a bit odd too....

All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
    (Just a heads-up)
