    Mafia spectator thread

Somebody ought to be commenting on the mafia game. Though I'm not participating, it is an interesting contest of wills....or not. So here's my first observation:

While it is unclear who is what at this point, I think all observers were given an initial feeling of euphoria when it was announced that somebody smashed arrow-raiders head with a pipe. Disappointment set in when it became clear that it didn't really happen, but optimisim remains at a high level.

Current odds are running 5:3 that Mendhak will make a pun so bad that everybody, including Arrow Raider himself, will vote that he be killed.

Odds are 7:11 that there will be a slurpy in the game.

Odds are 3:6 that Wossname will assasinate everybody, even though he isn't actually in the game.

    Further updates as events warrant.

No I think that the odds are that Wossname is the Head Goon and will decide to "wack" all the other goons at some point in the game.

It is interesting that there are certain members, who may or may not be goons even outside aforementioned thread, who seem happy to be posting rubbish even within a game in which they are supposed to be participating. This only serves as further evidence of goonish behaviour and I can but hope that timesh...whoever they are, is summarily executed.

I'm sure that your entire post was just an unfortunate spelling mistake.

Woohoo, we have a politician in the game. Selling your vote to the highest bidder, it's the American way!!

    Re: Mafia spectator thread

    Ok, one down.

    The current betting:

Kregg was doomed regardless of what he was. This just shows that sometimes everybody agrees, no matter which side of the fence they are on. Bottom line: This was a mercy killing.

Odds are 5:3 that timeshifter will be next.

Lead pipes simply aren't what they used to be.

9:11 that Penagate is the cop (what's a moderator for, anyways).

There is some hint that JR was the one who killed Arrow Raider, cause he never did quite get the job done. The other evidence is that AR now likes lesbians. Heck, he's dead, so he can't debate it.

    Re: Mafia spectator thread

What am I without my spell checker?
Nobody knows the errors I've fixed....

Well, I clearly don't understand the game, so it's time, like John Madden, to break out the graphics. Unfortunately, none of you can see them, so let me paint the picture with words.

The game was first like a calm lake, seething with glee over the apparent bludgeoning of Arrow Raider. Then, ripples appeared upon the surface of the deep. First one, then another, did these ripples rise up, and in their initial multiplicity a name was formed upon the face of the abyss. That name was Kregg. Ironically, it appeared that the first whose virtual existence would be snuffed out, was none other than the single individual whoes existence was, at that point, more theoretical than ever it was virtual. In short: They were gonna kill off the one person who hadn't even taken part in the game. A groundswell of opinion, rising like a seche upon the rippling surface of confusion, was about to overwhelm and cast into oblivion the one person who had never yet emerged from that state.

The short lived player named Kregg
By the others, was stuffed in a keg
    His attendance was weak
    (He never did speak)
Now the game board's devoid of his peg.

But such was the confusion of the masses, that no sooner had they voted against Kregg than their collective ire lost its force and ebbed back into the random churn of their small and murky pool. At first it appeared that all cohesion had been lost and cast into chaos with the waning of their passion. Yet amidst the random slings and arrows of warranted suspicions, a new order was forming. Deep within the churning madness of the masses of mafias, a sudden conformity of thought began to once again take shape, and this time the name of the doomed was: Pino.

There once was a player named Pino
    Influential as any neutrino.
He was off like a fart
    From right near the start
The effect on the game was like Bean-o

    Question:

If someone is slated to be "offed",
Is there any chance that, during the actual "offing" event,
that said intended victim can overcome his attacker(s) and survive the encounter?

Apparently that can happen only with the help of a doctor.

During the night phase, the doctor can PM me a name before the mafia has PMed me the name of who they want to die. If the name the mafia gives me is the same as the name the doctor gave me, then that person doesn't die.

So... if the mafia has been having covert PM meetings and knows very quickly who they want to kill, chances are high that the person's gonna die?

The mafia can off anyone - more important at the moment is that the non-mafia don't lynch the cop or the doctor, or one of themselves. Otherwise, two civilians are dead in short time.

Interestingly - the doctor can't protect anyone from the civ lynch mob - ie the daytime phase.

A memorial will be held for Kregg. Someone start a poll - cremation or burial?

AR didn't say how Kregg was killed. Is anyone taking requests? Surely we can't have a heavy pipe be used twice.

And what of more verse from da Spikey Shagger? I mean Shaggy Hiker.
