windows 2003 server
In windows 2003 server - does anybody know how to turn off/on the yahoo messager for any workstation in the domain group?

You mean disable the ability for them to run it or to access the messenger servers?
You can prevent users from running it with group policy. However, it would require some tinkering to prevent them access to the messenger servers.

enable/disable. preventing from the users to be able to use yahoo messenger. basically, we dont want the employees to chat at work.

You can easily create a group policy that prevents the users from running that program. If you don't know how, consult your windows server 2003 handbook.
Although I think it would have to be installed first if I know my windows server.
Why don't you want them to chat? IMing could actually increase produciticy. Could decrease it too. You could implment Exchange server IM services. My LAN teacher told me about it, but I never saw it myself.

the group policy that you are taking about, I think it is already exist. the question I have is where is it locate on the server.
my network admin has just quit on me, and I am trying to get to know the server.

This might help.
Incidentially, ALL IM sites and services are blocked at my workplace. In fact, ALL internet EMail sites are blocked. If you want to IM or check your internet email account, you have to do it from home (or at least from some place other than work.)
