[RESOLVED] Adding Spell Checking when posting

Hi, All, (Specially Mods and Admins)
I was wondering whether you could have a something to check the spelling of what we type, before we post?
Ofcourse we could check it manually or even with M$ Word.
But if we could have something like that , like in yahoo when we compose an email, it could be nice.

And to mention the hidden benifit of having more clear posts of the members also.

Could this be done?

If you can bear to use a different browser, Mozilla Firefox has a built-in spelling checker.

Thanks penagate, I didnt know firefox had it. And I m using Firefox too.
It seems that its in Firefox2, but I didnt start using it yet. heard some problems are there.

Yes it is included in Firefox 2.0+. There are no problems that I know of and there is no need to install a plugin. There are officially downloadable language packs for languages other than en-US (I'm using en-GB, for example)—these can be selected when choosing the localised version of the browser to download.

I believe there may be spell-checking add-ins for Internet Explorer 7 too, but I am not sure.

If you're using Firefox 2 now, it should happen automatically. You may need to turn on Tools|Options|Advanced|"Check my spelling as I Type", or right-click in the text area and select "Spell check this field".

Sorry , I havent started using that still. I thought its some other thing.

For IE Google has a "Google Toolbar" that incudes several features including a spellcheck button.

Now Google Toolbar supports FireFox too. But thats a web feature. Means need the Google Server to check the spelling. (And I m not very keen into lend Other people to collect info from me ).
Even Yahoo Toolbar supports that too.

When you install the toolbar Google asks if it's okay to gather information and it still installs okay if you say no.

if you use IE and have IE spell loaded, you'll see a button for it in the right-hand corner of the text editor

OK. Since I got some hints I think I got my solution. I ll be installing FireFox2 in near future. So I m reloving this thread. Thanks everyone for the help.



PS: BUT I d like if we could have it as a feature in our post windows
may be using some online spellcheckers like this.
