1. Whenever I try to push a button in IE like "Login", nothing happens...no activity whatsoever.
2. It keeps asking me if I will accept cookies, (I can't even say no)...and I can't change my internet security settings
3. Every tme I reboot, my start menu goes back to large (well thats not why I'm using netscape...just an odd happening).
WHATS WRONG!!! I've scanned for viruses and used scandisk....updated norton and tried again. Nothing... (ARG I can't even use the smiley menu on the right while writing this in netscape!)
Since IE has that new repair feature, try repairing it.
I've had to repair my IE a few times because when I tried shift clicking a link, it froze IE and kept doing it, so I had to right click and open in New Window, so after I repaired IE, it works fine now. And another time, when I closed one window in IE, they'd all close for some reason. It's alive...it's alive!!!
After I repaired it though, started working perfectly (perfectly meaning IE as it's normal state, crashing and stuff) again.
Reinstalling windows has always worked for me, if it doesn't work try crptcblade's solution. the repair feature only helped temporarily, and IE worked for about 1 month before it got even worse than before, now i use 5.00.2614.3500 and it's been working for 3 months, that is if you can call it working, because it sucks all your resources and crashes once in a while

I downloaded the whole 18 meg IE 5.5 and now all it does is crash... and then it crashes explorer, so lokks like a reinstall of windows is in order...
I just wanted to make sure all of my files will be saved if I reinstall windows 98.
Originally posted by SteveCRM I reinstalled windows and I still get the errors...and now whevever I push the back button in any folder, explorer crashes...
I've attached the first errero
That's pretty useless without the information from the details section
Did you do a clean install, or just stick it on top of the buggered one? You get a much better result doing a clean install.

For Win2K you really need to check exactly what hardware you have and whether it'll work or not...I've had real trouble with it, especially with VIA chipsets.

Well now I'm backing all my stuff up on cdrw's...Thanks for all your help guys!
If it doesn't work after areformat I don't kknow what to do, so this should work.
Oh and sorry about my poor spelling and grammar in these past few posts. Have you tried to type anything in Opera? Its impossible! It types so slow and sometimes characters don't show up right away.
How screwed up is this? I just logged onto a different windows name and it all works! I was trying to format C: on a different name until I noticed this works!!!!!!
If it works on another user name, most likely the problem is in the registry. (WARNING: I *****ed up 2 PCs @ school, thinking that if I copyed the registry from one that worked would fix the 2 the don't, oh how wrong I was.)
