    red, blue, yellow, and green

why are these 4 colors so dominant among company logos??

I mean sure they are primary colors and all, but it still seems a bit odd to me.

Cause Lucky Charms were a very popular cereal for our generation and subconsciously, we identify with the colors of the marshmallows:

    Red Balloons
    Green Clovers
Blue Moons (originally yellow, but changed to blue)
Yellow Pots of Gold (Formerly the moon color)

I don't buy that reasoning.. red balloons were NOT part of the original cereal

If you look at the history of the colors in Lucky Charms, you can target a demographic by simply adding the corresponding color to your company Logo.

Perhaps, because primary colors are the easiest to retain true among various printing and display devices (and color bit-depths)... just a guess.

They just look pleasing to the eye. It is risky though i have seen some companies adopt these colors and have their logo look tacky!

If you look hard enough you can probably find enough company logos to support this theory for any non-clashing combination of colours.

Blue(ish) seems to be more common.

The RGBY theme may most likely be a fad that goes away after a while.

We all ate lucky charms, the color wheel is to art and marketing as what your 7 year old lemonade stand is to economics and advanced economics.
