I want to start using InterDev, but I can't seem to open it up. It asks for the server. I have IIS running, at least thats what Win 2000 is telling me. I have tried putting in localhost like I seen in a tutorial, but that doesn't work.
Anyone know about this? I am new to IIS, so if you can make the answer detailed, it would help a lot.

Your IIS installation should have a server name associated with it - I think it's the same as your machine name. Use that for the server in InterDev.
(You can open up the IIS Manager and figure out the server name from there)

nope, didn't work. My computer name is LAPTOP and I put that in it, but no dice. I am wondering, does this problem have anything to do with TCP/IP at all? If so, what do I need.

Weird. I can't recall doing anything special on my install... just loaded IIS along with W2K (and NT on other machines). Make sure the IIS service is started but other than that... don't know what else to suggest. Sorry.

Reinstall Frontpage extensions. Without them (or if they get hosed which can happen) Interdev can not connect to the IIS server to publish documents to it.
Interdev uses the same mechanism for publishing it's web documents that Frontpage uses.

Thanks Monte, I will give it a try when I get home today. I think this might actually be the problem. I can't remember installing the FP extensions.
