    what's your level?

    I'm a newbie.
I was just wondering what's your level of maths here?

I'm in first year engineering. But there are many of your problems that I don't understand.

    Re: what's your level?

Well i live in Britain ad i'm 14 but i currently do pure A-Level maths work which is what 16 - 18 year olds do. I'm new here to and i haven't seen any of the problems on here but i suspect that they're hard.
Engineering is not what i would want to do but it sounds good

Must be degree level here at least.

I've checked my units and none of them can match this level of maths we're talking here. Maybe I must wait for the engineering mathematics unit.

anyway.. what do you intend to sduty next?

    Re: what's your level?

If you can do maths like that at your age then you should definately think about a career in maths. There is no reason why you wont continue to be as brilliant in the future. Who knows? One day you might be able to cure cancer with a mathematical equation or something?

14, and doing A-Level impressive. I wish I had a copy of the core 4 paper I took there are a few nifty questions in there . The question they asked which wasn't even in that unit was below the belt.

I just finished my first year in undergraduate college this last semester (US). Our curriculum is a little weird, so we don't have to declare a major until sometime Sophomore year, but I'll probably be Math/CS (joint or double)

Ya, you are correct. But what I mean is that want to be a great person on the field, rather giving my service to another community.

Maybe you want to look at developing software that Traders use. You get a lot of money for that sort of thing.

    Re: what's your level?

I believe that the algebra is the base of maths. If you know well, it is easy to work on geometry as well, because after figure out the give problem on geometry there, the way come out is algebra.

    Re: what's your level?

Better to do that before move further. Read a book which explain the art of problem solving, like How To Solve It by George Polya, you will find a lot. That is the best book I have read so far.

No you don't, I think. Best way is just work through until the exam is finished, on your own way.

Does anyone know what the American equivalent of a 1 at standard grade is? This is a Scottish or SQA qualification.
