    Resolved [RESOLVED] New to C++

    Hey everyone! I'm really new to C++, but I'd like to learn to use it. I'm still a student and I take courses at school, but they teach VB6 (which is really old) at home I use VB.NET (Third version, 2005) but I'd really like to learn C++.
    I can download the free version of Visual Studio, and I have the full (paid) version of Visual Studio at home but it's an old version.
    I also have access to this compiler
    http://www.sourceboost.com/

    Unfortunatly, I've searched and searched, but I can't find any good C++ tutorials. Can anyone suggest a good one?

    Get a C++ book
    Accelerated C++ by Andrew Koenig & Barbara Moo or
    Thinking in C++ by Bruce Eckel

    The course is online.

    Pfft, Chisholm. I tried to do a programming course at Chisholm 3 years ago.. on the first day I walked in and they were learning the different between hardware and software.. whilst learning to use a mouse..

    Terrible course.

    I'm currently at the AIE in Melbourne.. theres a Canberra campus aswell I'm told. Its a school devoted to game development. My course is the programming course, which is C++ focused. Theres art classes for 3D modelling, etc.

    aie.gov.au.. afaik.

    I've heard of both Chisholm and AIE. Those are good but for now I just want to learn C++ as a hobby, I might take a course some time next year maybe. For now, that online tutorial is really good, I'm going to use it mostly. Thanks!
