    [2005] can i connect to mysql db from windows app

    HI
    i download my connector on .net 2005 and it works fine
    i try it on localhost. works well ..
    i have free mysql hosting i try to connect to it but it fails

    is there any mysql free hosting enables me to connect to mysql db from windows application ?

    I doubt it. You get what you pay for.

    Most hosts do not allow remote connections, at least by default. Some hosts may provide you with an option to specify IP addresses that may connect to the database server remotely.

    Most, if not all, free hosts dont allow remote connections to their databases. There is allot of good hosting out there for only a couple of bucks a month.
