    Cool

    Hi all,
In SQL Server 7, when Im trying to open a table (in enterprise manager) for which the user has previledges, it says that SQL Server error 18456 - Login failed. and it asks to login again. When I login again, it connects correctly.
Why is this so? The user has all the rights to view the table. Is there anybody to guide me out??

    Cheers and thanx in advance

    silly guess

Do you have a connection set up to the server automatically. I did this myself the other day. I had the wrong name and password specified, and when I tried to access something it would not let me. I just changed the login name and pword for the server by right clicking on the server in EM, and selecting 'Edit SQL Server Registration Properties'. As the subject says this is just a guess.

    Hi Chris,
Thanx for that. The login and password which I use is a valid one. Im working on the server only.
I'm able to access the tables when Im going in as the sa but other users, though they have previledge, the login failed error comes.
    Cheers
