[RESOLVED][SQL Server 2005- Express ] Need help while connect to remote server
Hi all,
I tried connect to the remote server, However error message pop up!! I changed the SQLServer Surface Area Configuration for services and connection start all application and setting remote connections Using TCP/IP only.Below is my Error Msg..

Cannot connect to SHLIM.
------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)

2nd Question, Can VS.net 2003 connect to SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition or Express Edition ?

I has been Solve the 1st problem, i enabled SQL Browser and Services ...
However I still stucked at second question, I tried use OLEdbdataAdapter[VS 2003] to make a connection to SQL Server 2005. The Test Connection is fine and success. After i implemented with OK button error occured.
unable to connect to database It is only possible to connect to SQL Server Desktop Engine Database and Microsoft Access Databases with this version of Visual Studio
1st Question : VS 2003 cannot make connection to SQL Server 2005 ( Express Edition ) ?
2nd Question : Is that the OLEdbdataAdapter ?

Additional Question : How to set data type data in "Asterisk" character.
Example : When a user sign up as member, the password he keying in will convert and appear to "asterisk character" to enhance security in SQL data column.

I ask the question and also answer the question..
We got Question and Answer Section, now i m having I question and I answer. hahahaha
