    Hi....

    Can anyone tell me what the black dot in the middle of the envelope icon means please????
    Does it mean that the thread is closed???

    No, a grey padlock indicates it is closed. The black dot shows you have at some stage participated in that thread (i.e you started it or have replied to it)
