What's the maximum length of a string in characters, in Visual Basic .NET 2005?

i would think it is whatever the system can hold ? don't really think there is a cap on a string's length. not an expert on it though.

According to this site, a string can be of any length from 0 to approximately 2 billion unicode characters.

i wish i had 2 billion characters, would not know what to do with them. but i wish i had them.
