    Tell your friend to go to the UserCP and click Edit Options. Make the check box I've circled is checked. Then he can receive PMs.

    If that is so, how would that occur? How would there be custom program titles?

    You can set this yourself:

    Start --> Run --> "gpedit.msc"
    User Configuration --> Windows Settings --> Internet Explorer Maintenance --> Browser User Interface

    This can also be set when creating a custom version of Internet Explorer using the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK).

    Your mate should have received an email from VBForums with an account activation link in it. He needs to follow that link in order to be able to use most of the forum features.

    Why not tell us (or me via PM if you like) what his member name is?

    Marty, you can see his username in the screen shot. If you look it up you'll see it's awaiting confirmation.

    Re: Private message enabling

    I just sent another email to him with an activation code. He is using a 'public' email account, so if he doesn't see the activation email, he should look in the bulk/spam folder. He should also add webmaster -AT- VBForums.com to his contacts in his mail program so that future emails don't go to the spam folder.

    The email should have been sent within minutes of this post, so he can use that time stamp to help find it.

    Brad!
