BUG - Our software application asks users to install Print Shop 22??

Hey guys,

I'm one of the developers of the software application, www.bbreloader.com

Just recently we had one of our customers complain that when they perform certain functions in the software, it automatically launches their Print Shop 22 install.

The thing is, the software isn't associated with Print Shop 22 at all. In fact, the function that they are clicking that's causing this to happen is something so simple as, just popping up a message box.

We don't understand. The customer says that occassionally the Print Shop 22 install dialog will come up when they start our software as well.

We've only had this one customer complain about this issue, but we're dumbfounded as to how it's happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend your customers to reinstall "Print Shop 22" if they really need that or uninstall it if they don't.
However, if there is no way that "Print Shop 22" is installed on the "offensive" machine then it must be something in your distribution package that triggers that.
I would also ask your clients to provide the exact sircumstance (or sequence of events before dialog appeared) when that happens.

edit:
another thing could be to get a trial copy of that "Print Shop 22" and install it on plain machine (no VB or anything - just plain OS) only to see if if dumps on the system VB runtime files.
If so I would contact the "Print Shop 22" vendor for clarifications.

The problem could be that you are deploying a dll that Print Shop 22 has deployed and when you attempt to use it and Print Shop 22 isn't installed it will attempt to install it.

Without seeing what you included in your installation it would be just guessing. Could you pos what you install in your app?
