    emailing tool (free?)

you all know of any free email tools. I'm looking for something that will allow for management of addresses, email text, and scheduling.

i found this tool but my office doesn't have a server with the needed software.

i need to manage a large list of recipients and be able to email them as needed. The addresses are stored in a sql database.

i've started to write a tool to do this but after seeing the phplist tool i thought there might be a free .NET tool on the interweb.

Emailing with code isn't that difficult... the topic has been asked several times on the forums. Do a search and you should find something pretty quickly.

i don't have any issues with emailing or building the tool to do it.

but... if there is a free tool out there that is already built and functional why waste my time building a new one?

Customization. The ability to mass email people is nice, but the ability to mass email with exactly what you want is control. Personally, I prefer to have control over what happens.
