[RESOLVED] gpedit.msc
I am trying to disable and hide all items in desktop in gpedit.msc>user config.>admin templates>desktop. but it is not working. other things areworking. help?

Firstly i am running gpedit.msc from run amd then i am following the steps to disable and hide all items in desktop i.e.user config.>admin templates>desktop.
and enabling it.

OS? You trying to push a group policy in 2000/2003 active directory, or are you trying to use vista or xp the sounds of it just sounds like you are trying to use xp.

No need to reboot as you can foruce the update with ...
gpupdate /force

I did not restarted my pc. But other settings such as disable control panel etc. are taking effect immediately.

For the desktop items you will need to reboot. The other policies are different.
