Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
I downloaded the CD imges and merged them into one DVD image. But that didn't work. The installer keeps telling me to insert disk1. I think it checks for volume label or something.
Can anyone please upload the installer files from the DVD. In CD they are: msdn.msi, msdnadvt.mst, setup.exe, netcopy.exe.
Also can anyone tell me the volume label of the DVD ?

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
Well this was posted for the CDs already a while back and it appears that the CDs are the only version I have found that are publically downloadable.
Besides it wouldnt be wise to request such a rest if the dvd is not free,

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
At first it was available as free DVD image. But many people reported corrupt download. Then MS released the CD images.
In fact, just 2 days ago that DVD download page was available on Google cache.

And what's wrong with CDs? How often do you need to install it?

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
Reason1: I don't have any blank CD. CDs are costly.
Reason2: I'm planning to compile a single DVD including MSDN and all tutorials/codes/tools/tips I've downloaded.
I don't want to burn CD images on DVD as normal file.

Why not? You can then just mount them from the DVD.

Exactly! I really don't see any problems with that other than "inconvenience of navigating to a CD2".

Personal preference (=laziness) I guess.
Looks like that's what I'll have to do at last. Just wanted to see if someone can give a mirror link.

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
Just FYI: I recently had to install XP Media Center Edition from one of DVDs I received through my MSDN susbscription.
It's a multi OS dvd but guess what: I had to navigate to CD 2 as well.
So, I think that dvd you're referring could also had 2 CDs mounted...

Also note that requesting files that are purchase only is against the aup and we dont allow exe's or zipped exe attachments either.

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
I'm sorry for requesting exe.
Anyway it can't be attatched. Too large.
But, why are you always mentioning "purchase only" ? MSDN Apr 2007 DVD was free. How can you legaly 'purchase' a free DVD image ?

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
I couldnt find the link either so I was making the point that maybe it was removed and/or possibly purchase only now.

Oh just thought that maybe it was removed due to their new stance on downloading reduction on large files due to them trying to reduce their bandwidth consumption on these sorts of things.

Re: MSDN Library (April 2007 Edition) DVD image
I found this info:
The DVD image was named MSDNSP1_ENUDVD_X13-63638.img
URL was: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo..._X13-63638.img
Google search 1
Google search 2
Google search 3
I wish I had downloaded it last month.
