    Budget Power!

I just bought a really good bargain PC.

    - P3 1Ghz
    - 128MB RAM (Plus an extra 256MB upgrade for a total of 396Megs)
    - 20Gig HDD
    - 24x CDRom with secure CD magstripe reader
    - Two PCI slots
    - All the normal bits: LAN, USB, LPT, RS232

All this for £90. What's more, its brand new out of the box Fujitsu-Siemens. The pre-installed Windows 2000 PRO hadn't even been initialised yet.

Plus it's a Point-Of-Sale box, its got a titchy PSU and a big heat sink. I actually can't hear it above the sound of my radio.

I hasten to add that it won't have Win2000 on it for long.

I got it from RF Potts Electronics in Derby.

Ha. I have an AMD Athlon XP 1.6GHz with Win2k, 512MB ram with room to upgrade, pretty sure it's a 40 GB HDD... and I still didn't pay more.

Don't you think the UAC jokes are getting old and dusty?
