    Mass Deleting Subscriptions

The ability to delete multiple subscriptions in the UserCP seems not to be working, nor has it been working for some time. I know that this situation has arisen before but was later fixed. Is there any chance that the same issue could have a risen again, and perhaps the same fix could be applied?

I dont believe it was ever fixed. Its a strange bug that is particular to VBF and not in other JM sites.

    Re: Mass Deleting Subscriptions

Well, I won't be deleting them one by one so I guess they'll just have to stay. I do unsubscribe from threads when I visit one that is resolved but often the OP doesn't post back so I don't get notified so I don't visit.

I was never able to unsubscribe using mass delete. I also have like a 1000 subscriptions. Shouldn't this be fixed?

Yes, but I'm sure Joe will look into it when the opportunity allows as they are still performing upgrades of the vBulleting software. CG and DevX have still to be upgraded.

    Why delete subscriptions...

I've never done it - have over 4000 right now.

And I don't get e-mail notifications from old ones that often - and when someone comes along and posts in a 3 year old thread that I was involved in why wouldn't I want to get the notification?

Why are you deleting your subscriptions - I'm curious???

    Re: Mass Deleting Subscriptions

I don't need subscriptions, but it's nice to be able to simply open my UserCP and see the threads to which I've posted that have new posts. That way I can quickly reply to the threads that may be waiting fro input from me specifically and ignore the rest.

I don't need to delete subscriptions but I like "completeness", and leaving subscriptions to threads that I have no further interest in feels like leaving loose ends to me.

Exactly my point. You can simply pull down the "Quick Links" menu and go to your profile and further to your "most recent" posts - you get last 500 of them. More than enough I'm sure.

Sure, I could do that, but it doesn't show me which of the threads that have new posts I have posted to unless I'm subscribed to them. Why would I want to go through the extra steps and extra hassle if all I'm interested in is those threads that I've previously posted to that have new posts? The UserCP gives me that with one click via my subscriptions. They serve a useful purpose and I use them for that purpose. It's not the end of the world that I have over 7600 subscriptions but I'd rather not if it's possible to avoid. I understand that I can do without subscriptions but I can't get the same functionality without them so I'm going to continue to use them. The functionality to remove them exists and it has worked in the past. It just doesn't work now. I'd like it to be fixed if possible, but if it's not then the site just has to live with many thousands of records in its subscriptions table that aren't needed.

If you're happy to do that then I'm happy for you to. Everything but say the most recent 100 would be excellent.

that's a bit harder, if JP's thinking of the same control as me then it's all or nothing.

In that case just vape them all. I can do without subscriptions for a while if RB can do without them completely.
