DDE runs slow on Windows 98 machine why ??

Hi,

I have a pc that is pretty old (pentium 1) it uses windows 98, I find that DDE communication between a VB application and MS Excel is slow on this PC, while on a XP machine , the same application sends data to MS Excel very quickly ...

Any Idea ???

Well it would have something to do with the CPU speed for one and the amount of RAM. Also the versions of office may effect the speed.

Improve the machine and upgrade to XP.

Isn't there any registry tweaks ???

There wouldn't be any tweaks that would update your Office version or your operating system.

Or your CPU speed or any of the conditions that you mentioned in your first post.
