My computer sounds as if its on its last legs and I believe that this is to do with the computer CHIP FAN.
I have another but I haven't a clue as to how to remove the other one. (see pic)
Any suggestions?
i deal with socket 775 myself, but that looks like you push down the clip on one of the sides, and it loosens it so you can release the other side and pull it up. Maybe a socket 754. What is the mother board brand and model number? The manual normally shows how to do that also.
Thanks for replying Rory as it's much appreciated. I'm informed that I have to undo the metal plate (only just visible) and unscrew it from the underside. I'll give it a go at the weekend.
