Re: My first server
Ok, what web services and what database services?
If it's going to be an HTTP server then you'll need a web server + a database server, probably Apache + MySQL. There is a free download of both called XAMPP which will install both of those automatically and also an FTP server. A simple google search will bring you right to it.
But you need to be more specific.
What kind of connection do you have? T1? T3? OC? What kind of server do you want to run?

Uninterruptible power supply. On-site generator if there are frequent long (longer than 15 minute) power outages. Raid. Why?Also why?Only if you have more than 1 computer on a connection.
do I need more Ip addresses
Why would you?
The most difficult part of developing a program is understanding the problem.
The second most difficult part is deciding how you're going to solve the problem.
Actually writing the program (translating your solution into some computer language) is the easiest part.
Please indent your code and use tags around it to make it easier to read.

what is a linux box ??, Yes I know some linux OS
server cluster... Is it good to have another server? to create a replica of the information I have, and Can I locate this second server in a different place? How can I accomplish this?
My diagram would be...:
Internet <-------Router <-------Firewall < -------Cluster (Server 1,server 2)
As u can tell I am finding out everything, i am new in hardware , so any recommendation is welcome. Please
Thank you
