    exactly.

ah yes, neutral alignment; to find out why neutral alignment isn't really neutral at all, we first need to revisit society constructed around the concept of bad alignment.

if a society is based on bad alignment then it will have cruelty and injustice built into it so that people with sadistic tendencies can get their chemical rewards. if everyone in such a society was bad, then they would be feasting on their own, that is undertaking acts of cruelty on each other. Society would have to be built so that anyone could potentially feast on another. Even though this means that anyone in such a society could potentially be victimized at any time, they would allow it because the thought of not being able to indulge their sadistic tendencies would be unthinkable.

To summarise in a bad society there would be a huge risk of anyone being subjected to injustice and tortured in such a society, and nobody would be immune from that risk, the risk only being offset by virtue of sadistic tendencies being satisfied.

Can you see why neutral isn't really neutral yet TimeShifter?

I don't even know... he's been given hint after hint and still he keeps going...

The ironic thing is, he seems to lack the very foundation of what this thread is talking about... namely, intelligence...

Maybe someone should make a sticky for chitchat: "How to make a good/funny chit-chat thread" to avoid mistakes like this.

Maybe there's not... the filter must add that extra star... and I don't like it, considering it now looks like i'm telling him to shut the female dog up... and that could be taken the wrong way...

am i missing something? what's there to complain about? doesn't this thread cover more interesting material than just about any other thread?

if you are annoyed, unsubscribe and don't take any part in the thread, easy.

hi TBB, so you think everything should be a comedy? That's not Timeshifter's criticism. TS has a more general criticism and it seems to involve me shutting up at all costs; it would make his day if i were banned or the thread removed, you'd agree with that TS wouldn't you?

    Re: organic

    Absolutely.

And his post did not imply that every thread and user should be a comedy.. it simply implies that there should be a thread describing how to be funny if you so desire.

Maybe it should be created... or here's a better thread: "How to avoid getting flamed every other post in a thread"

    Re: organic

so the reason that neutral isn't neutral is because the neutrally aligned (not a choice mind you, it depends on your chemistry) do not get chemical rewards for being cruel. so as a result there is no payoff for the ability to torture and they could potentially be victimised and tortured themselves if society was based on a sinister structure. consequently a neutrally aligned society would never be based on injustice and cruelty.

    See you in three days.

If you have nothing appropriate to post, don't post at all. This goes for every one of you.
