    Z Distribution P(Z>-1.5)

    Hey guys,

Im doing work on z-distributions and ive gone cross-eyed

For P(Z > -1.5) the shaded area is to the right of -1.5
Therefore, the shaded area is to the left of 1.5
    .'. =P(Z < 1.5)

Im wondering, is this now just the same as P(0 < Z < 1.5)? Or...?

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    peace out

    Welcome aboard.
I believe the answer is no, depending somewhat upon what you mean by "this". Consider these for the normal:

    P(0 < Z < 1.5) = P(0 > Z > -1.5)

    and

    P(Z > 1.5) = P(Z < -1.5)

    and

    P(Z < 1.5) = P(Z > -1.5)

    Re: Z Distribution P(Z>-1.5)

    [Problem Solved]

I meant does the shaded area for P(Z > -1.5) [rewritten as P(Z<1.5)] include only from 0 to 1.5 or everything up until 1.5. I found my answer, it DOES include everything up until 1.5,
    Therefore:

    P(Z<1.5) = 0.5 + 0.4332 (0.5 counts for the area of the symmetric region)
    = 0.9332

    Thanks for your help
    peace out
