Google Talk from your Mobile phone!! :-O
Try this for your mobile or get an emulator like J2ME Wireless Toolkit 2.2 and try it on the PC.
Site address: http://wap064.tripod.com [access from PC or Mobile Phone]
if you need a Gmail email account its free and available at the same website.
Mozilla doesnt seem to want to downlaod the jar, should you wish to downlaod it on the PC, use I.E
http://wap064.tripod.com/skittle.jar = The client for login in with your google account
http://wap064.tripod.com/skittlegr.jar = The client for login in with your google group accounts
http://wap064.tripod.com/skittlesvc.jar = The client for login in with your google service /b] accounts
The Skittle GroupChat is really cool, i tried it, you can basically run a IRC from your phone, add people from google or any jabber and all chat in 1 chat room, 1st you have you create the account first [start your own chatroom [IRC] off your phone by creating a gmail address with the word group/team/club or room eg. [email protected], [email protected] messages goes to all members!! Successfully tested on 4240 contacts] To test this product add [email protected], its running right now!]
More info:
Skittle is a free Google Talk Chat application where you may add any jabber subscribers and chat to them 24/7.
Its basically Google talk however for your mobile instead of the PC.
Skittle works on almost any Java capable mobile phone. More than 150 handsets are supported!
It is designed for GPRS although 3G and HSDPA will mean Skittle will drop connections when traffic increases.
The longest recorded uptime for Skittle was 1523 minutes on a Nokia 6600 using GPRS, meaning the coding in stable!
There are 5 versions of Skittle:
Big Screen [phones like Nokia N70, IMate K-jam, Nokia 6600, Nokia N90, Nokia N95, etc]
Standard Small Screen [phones like Nokia 6230i, Motorola , Nokia 6230, Samsung D600 etc]
Old spec phones [phones like Nokia NGage and phones that are 3 years and older]
Skittle Groups [want to create a chat room? create a Gmail account with the words club/room/group/team eg. [email protected], [email protected] then run the group application where everyone subscribed in your group gets messages send by the group leader, and .
everyone that enters the chatroom can chat to one another. Features include:
Creating a topic, kicking users out the room, changing your name, finding out who is part of the group and of they are currently inside the room.
Skittle Services [start your own service off your phone by creating a gmail address with the word service or group
eg. [email protected], messages goes to all members!!
You can set welcome and non-chat auto replies and auto accept invites. Successfully tested on 4240 contacts]

If Apple fixes security flaws, they are heralded as proactive. If Microsoft fixes a security flaw, they finally got around to fixing their buggy OS.

Does a wifi phone mean you need to be connected near a access point, or else you dont get a signal?
Like cellphones access points is everywhere on the country, wifi has a limited range.
Does that answer your Q? the range is the reason

Re: Google Talk from your Mobile phone!! :-O
WiFi is also a much stronger signal... if I had WiFi in range, I'd be using that instead of EVO, even though the EVO can connect from anywhere. WiFi is stronger and faster

google is now a cellphone?
Anyway, if thats the case, just go Blackberry, works globally.
BTW one cell doesnt work everywhere.
Also, just like Wifi, you cell phone needs 'hotspots'.

Yes much faster and long range ... 400 miles in some cases.
Also with Skype they have the Boingo network, 5000 hotspots in the US, 10,000 in the UK, more globally, and its new so its going to grow like mad. http://skypezones.boingo.com/search.html
