    Cool

This is keeping in line with Megatron! A little poll on QBasic

It was such a cute little language.. the first one I ever learned..

Yes, indeed, QBasic, was a great language. If only VB had that same option to compile a "Stand-alone EXE"

    actually there is an option

once i had 30 days trial (hate these programs) which called crunch.
i have seen about it here, in vbsquare, and i liked the main idea...
HOPE SOMEDAY MICROSOFT WILL EVENTUALLY RELEASE THEIR OWN PROGRAM, AND IT HAS TO BE A GOOD ONE!
it should let us make INSTALL programs as we want, and not with this ugly square button with the computer icon (in the setup maker)!!!
I CALL MICROSOFT: DO IT NOW!!! ASAP!!!

VB can already make installation programs, without any additional software. What I suggested was that MS should eliminate the need for runtimes.

I didn't said that it is impossible.
i said thet the installation program is ugly in the ugliest way. it can be look better.
and besides, why shouldn't MS give us the chance to change (even a bit) this ugly installation?
this is why we are programmers: NOT TO USE DEFAULTS!!! AND NOT TO USE AUTOMATIC THINGS! WE ARE ARTISTS AND WE CREATE OUR OWN PROGRAMS!!!
the stand alone program is a very nice option! i guess that it might cause the EXE file get bigger...

i have Qbasic 4.5 but i am sure that i had 7.1 at sometime, it was the programming language that got me started, i love it

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

I also use Qbasic 4.5 , but rarely. Just to remind myself of the old times.

Lemon Lime: There is a Setup.vbp file, where you can modify the installation package.

i had some trouble with reaccomodation to old keyboard layout as i tried qbasic (4.5) again (didn't want to start the ide, just to create a file with some ascii etc) .. i've heard about qbasic 7 when i was begging (5 years ago), but i still don't know what why its "7". so why ?

i love QB! its a fantastic language. better than VB in the sense that it can actually make a stand alone EXE! although transition from qb to VB is fun to do by urself!
