Unhappy Last ever Stargate SG-1 episode

Well that's it folks. Last night was the last ever Stargate SG-1 episode to be shown on TV.
It was okay but ironically this is the first series in the last five they were promised another series, therefore they left it totally open. Won't say too much unless certain persons haven't seen it yet

Supposedly there's to be a straight to DVD feature to finish it off though

There will be at least two straight to DVD movies.
One will deal with the Ori (really deal with them) and one with time-travel.

Shame though with how the story went as they were obviously expecting another full series

Don't read this bit if you haven't seen it yet...
Shame too that the Asgaard had to die, but the weapon they gave to them was seriously sweet!

Re: Last ever Stargate SG-1 episode

I saw it last night. Seemed like a filler of an episode although I could tell what they meant when they titled it 'Unending', that it is an ending of sorts, but the battle will continue. But it still seemed like a filler. Everything hurried into place... ah well.

I think the 'new' SG1, with the new direction wasn't a very good move, as they pushed into the background the main reason people tuned in to watch it... Daniel Jackson.

    Indeed.

On the other hand, it was a good song they played halfway through, it seemed very appropriate and I... 'purchased' the song for my audio pleasure.

Yeah know what you mean, but I'm sure if the creators/directors/stars knew that this was to be the last one they would have written it differently.
SG-1 started to go downhill when Jack left, he was by far the best character. Well at least we won't have to wait long for the DVDs. They're supposed to be out in the autumn

SG-1 is a POS and I'm glad it's gone even when I don't have tv.

I liked Vala, but the entire Ori story was a bit too much IMO.

Awesome, yet another series that ended without me seeing a single episode. We'll just add that to the list right after The OC, Lost and Heroes.

He means another spin off on Stargate.

The terminology used on UK broadcasting is rather strange, because seasons are referred to as series, which they are not. So at the end of every season, one gets to watch a series finale on Sky One.

I see, heard rumours of a third spin-off. It's obviously going to come from Atlantis......or perhaps by the second of the DVD movies

Saw the final episode of Atlantis for this season last night. Man was it good! Good cliffhanger to end the episode on

Also, a real bonus that Jewel Staite was in it too! Nice to have a bit of eye-candy at last!

The third spin-off is rumoured to have Michael Shanks as the lead character. Knowing that makes me already want to watch it, because his character brings historical background to the storylines, and I enjoy knowing about ancient races which have fantastically rendered technologies

Can't wait for the movies... (well, the first one anyway...they've done time travel to death).

Re: Last ever Stargate SG-1 episode

Michael Shanks as lead? Yeah that would be cool. But where would it be based? It can't be based from Earth because that would just be an SG-1 clone. It can't be at Atlantis because that world is already being explored.

Maybe he goes to the Ori galaxy? Perhaps using the old Ori temple as a base of operations to learn more from their history?

That was the season finale? Dangit.

And who is Jewel Staite in SGA? I didn't notice any eye candy on the show last night.

For any n00bs here, Jewel Staite was Kayley from the short-lived Firefly

Mendhak: Jewel was the new doctor who was asking to be replaced because she couldn't handle the new workload.

Oh, her. Yeah, definitely eye candy. I miss the former doc's Scottish accent though. Beckett, I think that was his name. It was... it just suited that particular role for some reason. Sounded absolutely superb.
