Re: Website Availability?
Yes, I have experienced allot of that lately too. Just recently a this morning. I did the diagnose and it would come back as dns or website issue. Other sites were good and fast.
Also, at night, at least for my time, the site is really slow but I assume that maybe because of a nightly backup running or ???

Re: Website Availability?
I had a similar problem that I couldn't figure out so I called the Geek Squad (a real company for those of you that don't live on the West Coast). When I told them I was trying to use IE7 with XP they said that IE7 was just meant to be used with Vista and they had me back out the upgrade via a checkpoint. Everything was fine after that.

Re: Website Availability?
I dont think thats 100% true. IE 7 was out before Vista and there is an additional special version of IE for Vista and also for Small Business Server 2003.
Everything was fast before the upgrade and about 1-2 days after the upgrade for me at least.

Or, some specific one anyways...
Been seeing alot of slowdowns navigating from forum to forum, thread to thread...
Stealing focus during replies...
Just my 2¢

Re: Website Availability?
It is happening in Opera too.
In addition to 'general slowdown', sometimes when I submit a post, the page will not refresh. If I open the thread in another tab, it shows that my new post is already submitted.
I haven't faced the 'stealing focus' problem though.

Re: Website Availability?
I wasn't even going to dusscuss the slowdown at time. Most other sites are pretty quick but at time this site is very slow. Bu as has been stated in other posts I believe that to be some of the ads.
Matrin I've been using IE7 since Beta1 and have not had any issues with IE and Win XP

Re: Website Availability?
Please try to note what ads are displayed when these slow downs occur. If you can capture the source for the page, then post that for me as well. Chances are we have bad code in an ad somewhere that we need to track down and kill. (Note ads are coded by other companies, and many don't know of some of the fickle issues with the newest versions of Flash and browsers).
Thanks all,
Brad!

Re: Website Availability?
It may be an ad or it may be the dredded VBWire News feed again. Without getting a page to display/load its hard to get a snapshot or page source.
