ISO Files ...
How do you load a ISO file to CD or DVD and boot with it? I copied Windows Vista ISO on a DVD and tried to boot with it without any success. How does this work?

Re: ISO Files ...
Normal 'Copy' will not work.
You'll need to 'burn the image'. (sorry for the misleading term. )
This is what you do in Nero:
1. Close the 'New Compilation' dialog.
2. Make srue correct recorder is chosen. (select from the combo in toolbar or Recorder>Choose Recorder menu)
3. Click Recorder > Burn Image.
4. Select the image and click ok.
5. Burn it.
In Nero Express:
1. Choose "Disk Image or Saved Project".
2. Burn.

I think vista ISO's can be downloaded legally because you need to register it online anyway.

There's also a program called alcohol120% that i use and is really a nice piece of software for burning and ripping iso's. It also lets you create virtual disk drives.

Re: ISO Files ...
If the ISO is bootable(Vista ISO has to be) then you don't have to worry about that.

You can burn the ISO to whatever media you want to. And as far as it being bootable that's entirely dependent on the ISO.

Re: ISO Files ...
Almost EVERY CD/DVD burning software can burn ISO image.
Tell us what software you have then we'll give you instruction for that software.
Nero, Alcohol 120%, PowerISO, MagicISO, all are capable of burning iso images.

Re: ISO Files ...
The MSDN subscription vista may actually not be bootable. It may actually be only intended for upgrading an existant version of windows. Once you have burned the CD, put it in your computer with windows already started up and see if an autorun starts. If not, check the contents of the CD and see if you can find some sort of generic exe that would begin the install process.
